A traditional national celebration in the Netherlands, Queens Day is the single largest event of the year. Throughout the colonies of the Netherlands, Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles, all share the same passion for dressing in orange and celebrating Queens Day.
In the past the Queens Day celebrations were on the 31st of August on the birthday of Queen Juliana, but after the year 1949 the traditional celebration has been held on the 30th of April. If Queens Day is on a Sunday, the celebrations would take place on either the Saturday before or the following Monday.
